Goals, we wanna score goals!

It’s harvest time, as in the picture of the sugar beet farmers. Time to see if the year has gone well, whether the harvest wagons are full and what condition the soil has been left in. Rich in humus with good conditions for the coming years or depleted and dry. Companies should ask themselves the same questions in the last quarter of the year. Beyond KPIs and MbOs, is the strategic direction still right? More and more deep tech companies are also having to deal with sustainability goals, which is causing many entrepreneurs to rack their brains. Where to get? Who does what? The sustainability goals of the United Nations are a great help and can be an inspiration to turn one or two screws in the company. With the Saphenability sustainability project, Saphenus has committed itself to 8 important goals and 28 sub-goals. These have the potential to improve economic performance and have an impact on the environment and local communities,

Achieving these goals can be invaluable for a company. In some cases you have to take „low hanging fruits“ to start, or to switch to the technical language of football, if you are in the penalty area and you dont know what to do, just stick into the net and talk about options later. That’s e.g. in the case of a medical technology company SDG 3. But in some cases this achievements leads to new, unknown acquaintances and the discovery of new possible strengths and potential within the company. It’s worth – and I’ll stick with football now – not only to talk about options later but take a chance to scoring the next goal. This will boost the company’s sustainable potential.
